Holiday Giveaway 2011

Christmas is three weeks away and Hanukkah is even sooner, so the coming days will be busy for all of us. After all of the shopping and wrapping, baking and hosting, card writing, hall-decking, mailing and gifting, I'll be ready for a little pampering. How about you?

That's just what I thought! I put together some goodies just for you, and one lucky winner will get to indulge. Gingerbread is the fragrance of choice for our Holiday Giveaway 2011, decided on Facebook and Twitter (beating Candy Cane by only one vote).

This Gingerbread Pedicure Gift is truly special! I've included a big jar of Gingerbread Foot Soak (with a pretty wooden scoop) for a relaxing soak, and Sugar Scrub for gentle exfoliation. The red tippy-toe towels will help to prepare your toes for the silky moisturizing of your Gingerbread Foot Cream. The Gingerbread Body Lotion will give you all over yumminess, while the Gingerbread Lip Balm lends just a kiss of sugar and spice.

For those of you who were looking forward to peppermint, I added a Peppermint Stick lip balm, and some Ghirardelli Peppermint bark to enjoy while you relax (I'll tuck in a few other goodies, too). You can even finish up your pedicure by slipping on these adorable holiday gingerbread boy socks! (I told you I was pampering you!)

This whole set is wrapped up in a cute gingerbread holiday box in cello with a ribbon and gift tag (if you should decide to give it away, though why would you do a silly thing like that?!). It would retail for over $70, but it's a one-of-a-kind, and the only way to get it is to enter below!

Each one of you can enter five times, and each entry requires a separate comment. Make sure to leave a name or email address in your comments so I know who you are! Please note, this giveaway is only for residents of the U.S. 18 and older. You can enter by doing any (or all) of the following:

1. Share your own Gingerbread story. Do you like to bake gingerbread cookies? Maybe you have a tradition of making gingerbread houses? Do you really prefer sugar cookies? Share anything you'd like in this comment!

2. Join our mailing list. If you have just joined—or if you're already on the list—simply leave a comment letting me know.

3. "Like" us on Facebook. If you are already a friend of our page, you can just say that in your comment.

4. Subscribe to this blog. You can subscribe by email or subscribe in a reader (you may choose your favorite). Already subscribed? Just leave a comment saying so!

5. Follow us on Twitter. Leave a comment letting me know your user name so I can follow you back, too (if I'm not already following you)!

Make sure to leave a comment for each separate entry!

That's it! Enter before midnight on December 16th, when we will randomly select one entry from these comments. We will contact the winner directly via email, and after we've notified them we will make an announcement here on the blog and on Facebook. If we cannot contact the winner in two days, another winner will be selected. Please contact me with any questions.

Happy December! Enjoy your holiday preparations!

  9. My sister lives in Germany so always at Christmas time she will send us Lebkuchen. Lebkuchen is a traditional German baked Christmas treat, resembling gingerbread. It was first baked in 1296 in Germany. We love them you can get them in chocolate, almond, plain, etc.

  10. Love gingerbread cookies! Growing up though, Christmas was always the time Mom made "special" cookies - pizzelles! They're delicate, lacy Italian cookies that are made two at a time on a pizzelle iron. Very time consuming but oh, so worth it! Mary Parker hdrrekrap@cox.net

  21. I much prefer a sugar cookie. My best friend begs me to make her some every year. I think they're so tasty because I frost them with homemade buttercream (my mother's recipe)!

  25. I have many, many fond memories of decorating gingerbread cookies with my mom and my sister...with goopy frosting colored pink and green, the obligatory cinnamon red hot candies for Rudolph's nose (and buttons on the snowman!) and LOTS of colored sugar that turned our fingers red and green. We had an awesome collection of cookie cutters including Santa's sleigh, a plastic candy cane cutter that the dough always got stuck in, angels and partridges and jingle bells and wreaths. I'm sure we made quite a mess, but it was fun to get creative and laugh and listen to our favorite Christmas songs (on vinyl records, no less!) That smell of cloves and cinnamon and molasses always makes me feel like a kid again.
